Regular monthly meetings - the first Wednesday of the month.
All training days will be the FIRST SUNDAY of every month (holidays may change schedule). Please show up wearing proper uniform for training.
2010 Training Schedule
January 3rd - First aide and CPR, for some it will be a refresher course and for others it will be a certification day. Be prepared for 3 hours. Also basic radio communications will be reviewed.
February 7th - Fire truck training, driving on East Fork Rd. area setting up rig and spraying water on vehicle, team of 3, brush gear only, be prepared for 1.5 hours.
March 7th - Knot tying and rappelling with rope and saddle off hillside, brush gear only, be prepared for 1.5 hours.
April 4th - Fire truck training, including driving to residentail areas, setting up rig and spraying water on makeshift trailer or structure. Identify potential dangers such as electrical wires. Turn-out gea, be prepared for 1.5 hours.
May 2nd - Residential area fire training, identifying electrical connections, propane tank shut off and locating hydrants, brush gear only. Be prepared for 1.5 hours. Will also start setting up fire patrols for summer.
June 6th - First aide refresher, heat exhaustion, rattle snake bites, broken bones and burns. Be prepared for 1.5 hours. Fire patrols for summer.
July 11th - Know tying and rappelling rope and saddle off hillside, brush gear. Be prepared for 1.5 hour. Also will review radio communications, set up patrols for summer.
August 1st - Truck training at cafe parking lot, brush gear. Be prepared for 1.5 hours. Be prepared for 1.5 hours. Fire patrols for summer.
September 12th - Fire truck training, driving on East Fork Road, setting up rig and spraying water on makeshift structure. Set up fire patrols for area.
October 3rd - TBA November 7th - TBA December 5th - TBA
All our volunteers are CPR and first aid certified. We are currently completing all related NIMS training, in addition to repeling training, driver certification and safety training.
